Questions people ask us
Does Myhorizon's in-home support include cleaning or housework?
It doesn't include cleaning. In-home support is personal care. We can also support you with shopping and cooking a meal, and support you to build your independence around managing your own home.
Is Myhorizon's in-home support the same as Supported Independent Living (SIL)?
No. Myhorizon’s in-home support is targeted help in your own home, such as personal care, shopping or preparing meals. Supported Independent Living is for people who need support or supervision 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including active support with daily activities for at least eight hours a day. If you do not need support all the time, assistance with daily life may be a better fit. We can explain our services, and your 'my NDIS' contact can help you understand the funding in your plan.
Can my NDIS plan pay for in-home support?
It may. NDIS funding can include assistance with daily life when you need disability-related help with personal care or everyday tasks at home. The support must be included in your plan and meet the NDIS funding criteria. We can discuss what Myhorizon offers, but the NDIA decides what funding is included in your plan.
